Sumitomo Heavy Industries Bayer Continuously Variable Transmission
Over 700,000 units sold provide peace of mind!
The Bayer continuously variable transmission has a unique friction transmission mechanism consisting of many thin friction discs, which results in a large number of contact points, allowing for low surface pressure at the contact areas and ample load capacity. Since the contact areas transmit power in a state close to fluid friction, there is no risk of the oil film breaking and resulting in metal-to-metal contact even when a certain degree of overload is applied. The friction discs are made from a special alloy steel with high fatigue strength and excellent wear resistance, and the mechanism ensures that an oil film is always maintained between the contact surfaces, resulting in minimal wear of the friction discs and outstanding durability. Optimal design of the pressing force and shape of the friction contact areas enables high-efficiency operation. For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.
